If you have used the Google Webmasters before, you may try the site map submission function. Some websites generate the site map automatically, such as Word Press, Google Sites, blogger.com ,etc.
The following is a simple summary of the site map that is most suitable for Google Webmasters:
- blogger.com or any blogspot sites: /feeds/post/full/
- Google Sites: /system/feeds/sitemap/
- WordPress: /feed/
The sitemap files should not carry too much links. In my experience, if the sitemap files exceed 10K links, it may time out in some ocassions. Thus, Google recommend web masters to submit multiple site map files in their sites are huge. However, currently Google Webmasters only support 500 site map files per site.
Currently, I have set up 6 new sites. Each of them have 500 site map files (Totally, 3000 site map files). Since, there is no automatic sitemap files submission tools, I have to submit them one by one which spend me several hours to completed.
Relying only sitemap files is not sufficient, if no internal links, the search engine indexing process will be quite slow. So, a carefully designed site structure is more importance than merely maintaining by site map files.
As I haven’t finished the site map files submission, I got to stop writing here.
