The New Google Analytics
Welcome to the new version!
Dear Google Analytics user,
You’ve just received access to the new version of Google Analytics. We’re sharing this new version with you to give you a peek at the future of Google Analytics and to get your feedback as we work to bring this to all Google Analytics users.
If you want to dive right in you can visit www.google.com/analytics/web/ and get started. The interface has been heavily redesigned, but we think you’ll still feel right at home. You will see a link to it from your reports. Though this version is in beta, we want to share it with you. The next time you sign into Google Analytics you will see a link for the new interface when you sign into your Google Analytics account.
What’s new
We focused on two major areas with this new version:
Making it easier and faster to get to the information you want
Enhancing the Google Analytics platform to enable major new functionality
And here’s a few of the new features so far (with many more to come):
NEW INTERFACE: Redesigned UI focused on simplifying your data analysis
MULTIPLE DASHBOARDS: You can now create multiple dashboards in each profile to focus on what’s most important
EVENTS AS GOALS: You can now set any event as a goal in Google Analytics
What’s not ready yet
We’re working really hard to make sure the new version of Analytics can do everything the current version does. That said, there’s a handful of tasks you can’t do in the new interface just yet. For any of these actions, you need to use the current version:
- You can’t link a new AdWords or AdSense account to your Analytics account
- You can’t export a report as a PDF or email a report
- In-Page Analytics report is not currently available
How to access the new version
Once you’ve signed into Google Analytics, you’ll see a “New Version” link at the top right of the page, next to your email address. Click on the link to access the new interface. You will still have access to the current version of Google Analytics, and you can switch between them at any time.
Where to get help
We’ve updated the Google Analytics Help Center for the new version. You’ll find all of the familiar help content there. There’s also the Analytics Report Finder, which will show you where to find your favorite reports in the new version.
We’ve also created a new section in the Google Analytics Help Forum for the new version. You can ask questions and discuss the new version there.
And if you want to receive more updates about the new version, make sure you opt-in to receive Newsletters from your Google Analytics account settings.
Let us know what you think
While we’ve put a lot of effort into the new version, it’s still a beta and we’re actively working to make it better. We very much want to hear your feedback. Please use this feedback form to tell us what you think, good or bad.
Happy Analyzing,
Trevor
Google Analytics Team
